Our guests arrive on site, and after the “human” introductions we proceed to the alpacas, where before entering the enclosure guests are briefed on how to behave around the animals, how to handle them, and a general safety talk concerning been on a farm with loose animals. They will then come and meet the alpacas, hand feed them and learn about the history of the alpaca species with facts and information while they can also get hands on and handle the animals. Then we halter up and after practicing leading the guests then lead the alpacas around the farm, meeting the various farm animals here, depending on the time of year this can include hand feeding, bottle feeding lambs/goats kids, photo opportunities with the pigs/cattle/sheep. Whilst walking any wildlife is pointed out, along with natural features ( mountains, peat bog, ancient oak woodland). We also talk about the various farm animals, benefits of the free range systems of care, and answer any questions. We then continue the walk back to the other alpacas, before letting the herd back out. At this point guests can enjoy a drink, or are welcome to bring a picnic and can watch the alpacas at leisure, grazing and playing.
At all points the guide is there to answer any questions, and tell people information about all the animals and nature.
Please note this experience is only for people over 9 years old.
